Internet marketing success depends on learning how to generate a lot of traffic to your website. Without massive traffic, you wont make any money. You need a lot of visitors to your site to make a few sales.
Learning traffic generation secrets is in essence what internet marketing is. Sales copy comes after that. There are various ways to generate traffic to your site.
Many will tell you to start PPC. In PPC, you pay for getting targeted traffic from the search engines. But over the years, keywords on PPC have become very expensive. One simple click can cost you $1 or more for a particular keyword. You cant compete against the big players with deep pockets involved in PPC.
Over time, if your passion for internet marketing survives, you will learn that there is no substitute for free traffic. How do you get lot of targeted traffic free? By getting your website ranked on the search engines.
You will want to learn search engine optimization (SEO). But here again you are competing with big players with lots of experience and deep pockets.
Nobody will tell you this truth that it is impossible to get your website ranked high in the search engines especially Google. Google takes the age factor of a website into account before giving it any importance.
Google does not want a few page sites on its search engine result pages. Google likes authority sites on a particular niche! Your website should have hundreds of optimized pages and thousands of backlinks before Google will rank it on its search pages.
You are again stuck! You cant compete with big players who have years of experience doing SEO! Can you beat them? You bet. You can. How about using these same authority sites to generate traffic for your site?
I give you an example to make it clear. EzineArticles is considered to be an authority site by Google. You should submit articles on it. These articles get targeted traffic to your site as well as quality backlinks that counts with Google. The chances are Google can rank one of your submitted articles on its search pages.
You can use many article directories, forums, blogs, and social bookmarking sites to get traffic for your site and quality backlinks.
You focus on learning how to generate free traffic for your site in the beginning. If you can learn this trick, you are on your way to your long term success in internet marketing.
